Mini Hator & Tequilita vs Chamaco Gurrola & Mini Difunto (Monterrey, 1/31/2016)

After a week off due to a crazy work week we are back to celebrate “Family Day” with “Monday Minis”!

Tim Evans on the Pro Wrestling Only message board suggested this match as a “real minis match” which means I had to watch it.

Mini Hator & Tequilita vs Chamaco Gurrola & Mini Difunto
(Monterrey, 1/31/2016)

Before we start we must acknowledge that the Cubs Fan rules and everybody should check out his YouTube page weekly for all the awesome lucha. It is the easiest way to keep up with all the wrestling in Mexico on a weekly basis.

This match was kind of odd. It was about 14 minutes long with the first 8 minutes being the rudos beating on the technicos with no shine sequence to start and almost no hope spots. We then move into a technico comeback, cut off by a rudo cheating move. From there it transitioned into a proper tag match (instead of one pair in the ring and the other brawling throughout the arena). We end everything up with a massive payback as the technico uses the cheating move from earlier to gain the victory behind the referee’s back. That finish is so great and really makes everything worth while in the match.

Yeah, odd structure. However there was a lot to like here. First, Tequilita was massively huge. You get a lot of extra bonus points for combining two of my loves in wrestling, minis and fat wrestlers.

Some of the offense was really fun with Tequilita hitting an amazing stiff punch and some fat man offense. There is some nice heated segments between Mini Hator and Mini Difunto, including mask ripping, nice punches, and some HUGE back drops on the ramp. By the way, there was a ramp down the entrance which is something I always love. The comeback was pretty exciting with a really good tope wiping out Tequilita. Perhaps the oddest part of the match was seeing the technico try to mat wrestle Tequilita.

In the end this worked out to a pretty fun contest with a great finish.
